For front-desk teams and clinic owners
Your front desk and an AI receptionist, working side by side
Written for the people who answer the phone and the people who run the clinic. JOUD picks up the calls that stack up while your team is with patients, finishes the routine ones, and hands the rest to a person with the details already written down.

A morning at the front desk
The phone rings while someone is standing at the counter
Anyone who has worked a clinic front desk knows the moment. A patient is at the counter with a form, the phone rings, and a second line lights up behind it. Monday opens with the weekend's voicemails, the same-day requests and a stack of renewals, all before the first patient has checked in. None of that is anyone falling short. It is what happens when one desk has to serve the patients in the room and the patients on the line at the same time.

Covering the whole week
Patients call across all 168 hours of the week, not only when the desk is open
Your desk is staffed for the hours patients walk in. Patients call outside those hours too: after work, on Saturday morning, on a holiday Monday. Inside them, there are stretches when everyone is already on a call or with a patient. JOUD answers in those gaps, at night, on weekends and holidays, and whenever every line at the desk is busy, so your team can give the hours they work to the people in front of them.
Chart: a week has 168 hours. A full-time shift covers about 40 of them, and JOUD answers the phone in all 168.
How clinics use both
How your front desk and an AI receptionist share the phone
JOUD answers first. It books, moves and cancels appointments, answers questions about hours and directions, and updates a patient's phone number or address, all on the call and in your EMR. Renewal requests are taken down and sent through the approval steps your clinic uses. When a call needs a person, such as a worried parent, a confused or upset caller, or anything clinical, JOUD passes it to your team with the caller's name, the reason for the call and the transcript on screen. Nobody has to ask the patient to start over.
Your team sets the rules
At onboarding, the people who run your desk decide what JOUD says, which calls go to which physician and what happens after hours. Every call shows up in the staff portal with its transcript, so anyone at the desk can see what was said and step in.
