Clinic Arrival
Get patients from the door to the waiting room without the desk
Patients identify themselves, confirm their details are current, and reach your schedule without the desk.
- Card or typed
- Scan the health card, or enter it
- Details checked
- Confirmed and corrected on arrival
- No hardware
- A tablet the clinic already has
What Changes
How it goes without automation
- Everyone who arrives queues at the same desk, including people who only need to say they are here.
- The desk is interrupted mid-call to check somebody in.
- Somebody asks every patient whether their number is still the same, one at a time.
- Walk-ins and booked patients form one undifferentiated line.
- Arrival status is updated whenever somebody gets a moment.
How it goes with Joud Health
- Patients check themselves in on a tablet at the door.
- Scanning the health card fills the fields, and typing works when it does not.
- Contact details are confirmed and corrected by the patient rather than asked at the desk.
- Walk-ins are separated from booked patients on arrival rather than at the desk.
- Arrival reaches the schedule immediately, so the room knows who is waiting.
Step By Step
Patient
They arrive and tap the tablet
One screen, two choices: they have an appointment, or they are a walk-in. Everything after that follows from which one they pick.
Patient
They identify themselves
Health card and date of birth. The camera can read the card and fill the fields, and the fields stay editable because reading a card is never perfect. No camera, or a card it cannot read, simply means typing it.

Matched to the visit
Checked against the appointment, or against the patient record for a walk-in. A patient with no record is taken through registration rather than turned away.
Patient
They confirm their details are current
Phone, address, and anything else your clinic wants verified are shown back for confirmation, and corrected on the spot. It is the question the desk asks every visit, moved to the tablet.

Arrival reaches the schedule
The visit is marked arrived, so the clinical team sees who is waiting without anyone relaying it.
Patient
They are told to take a seat
A plain confirmation, then the tablet resets itself for the next person. It never sits on a previous patient’s details.
What It Hands Off To
A point solution finishes its own job and stops. These workflows run on one platform and one EMR connection, so the end of one is the start of the next.
- Patient Intake
A patient with no record is taken through registration on the same tablet rather than sent to the desk.
- Booking
The appointment being checked into is the one the same platform booked, so the match is not a lookup across systems.
How It Is Set Up
- Identification
- Health card and date of birth
- Card scanning
- Live camera read, with typing always available
- Accuracy guard
- A value is trusted only once repeated reads agree
- Paths
- Booked appointments and walk-ins, handled separately
- Details
- Contact information confirmed or corrected at arrival
- Privacy
- Resets on inactivity so no details stay on screen
- EMR write-back
- Arrival status against the visit
Questions
What if the camera cannot read the card?
They type it, which is always available on the same screen. Scanning is a shortcut rather than a requirement, and every failure path falls back to entry rather than blocking the check-in. The fields stay editable after a scan for the same reason.
Do we need a kiosk?
A tablet is enough. It runs in a browser, so a device the clinic already owns on a stand at the door does the job. There is no dedicated hardware to buy or maintain.
What about a patient who has never been here?
They are taken through registration on the same tablet rather than sent back to the queue. A first visit is exactly the case where the desk is slowest, so it is the one worth handling.
