Clinic Arrival

Register a new patient without starting at the desk

New patients enter their own details, and arrive on the chart rather than on paper.

Self-serve

No clipboard to key in afterwards
Same tablet
Continues straight from check-in

What Changes

How it goes without automation

  • A new patient is handed a clipboard and fills it in standing up.
  • Somebody types the form into the EMR later, usually at the end of a shift.
  • Handwriting is misread, and the error lives on the chart from day one.
  • The paper has to be stored, found again, and eventually destroyed.

How it goes with Joud Health

  • The patient types their own details, so nobody transcribes handwriting.
  • Required fields are checked before they can finish, not after they have left.
  • It runs on the same tablet as check-in, so registration is not a separate errand.
  • The details reach the chart rather than a tray behind the desk.

Required fields and plausible dates are validated as they go, so a gap is caught while the patient is still standing there rather than after they have gone.

Your team
Your team reviews what matters
Registration details still deserve a human eye, and this is the step where that happens. The difference is that your team is checking a record rather than creating one from handwriting.

What It Hands Off To

A point solution finishes its own job and stops. These workflows run on one platform and one EMR connection, so the end of one is the start of the next.

  • Check-In

Registration continues straight from check-in on the same tablet, so a first visit is one flow rather than two.

  • Referrals

A referred patient is usually a new one, so the referral and the registration meet on the same record.

Questions

Can we use our own intake forms?
The registration set here is the core identity and contact details a new record needs. Clinic-specific questionnaires on top of that are configured during onboarding rather than being something you edit yourself today.
Does a person still check the record?
Yes, and the page says so deliberately. What changes is what your team is doing: reviewing a typed record rather than deciphering handwriting and keying it in from scratch.
What if the patient cannot finish on the tablet?
They go to the desk, the same fallback as before. Nothing here removes the option of a person, and a patient who needs help gets one rather than being stuck at a screen.
